Scarlet Runner Pole Bean Seed

The Scarlet runner bean plant is commonly grown as an ornamental, boasting bright red scarlet flowers (sometimes producing white flowers) that attract both pollinators and hummingbirds. These bean plants are vigorous and can grow upto 15 feet in height and can become  quite heavy, needing sturdy poles or trellises to be supported. 

The beans produced on this plant are best harvested while young and cooked before consuming as they can be toxic to humans and animals if eaten raw in large quantities.
