Russet Burbank Potatoes are a late season Russet Potato that have been a staple in many gardens for years. Russett Burbank Potatoes have Large long-oval tubers with light russeted skin, shallow eyes and fluffy white flesh. One of over 800 varieties created by American plant breeder Luther Burbank, who developed the original Burbank at the age of 26, to combat the potato famine in Ireland. The Russet Burbank variety developed from a mutation of Burbank Potatoes giving it its russet skin.
In the Garden: Russet Burbank Potatoes Shows some field resistance to blackleg, fusarium, and blight and has a high resistant to scab.
in the Kitchen: Russet Burbank Potatoes are great for steaming, baking, potato pancakes or thick-cut oven fries. They have a great storage life for over winter due to long dormancy period.
